12 Days Uganda Safari Best of Uganda Primates Safari Destinations in the Pearl of Africa
The 12 Days  Uganda takes you around Uganda to experience the hospitality of many Uganda people who are so friendly in our cultural adventures featured he, these people will be our hosts.  Expect early morning starts, opportunities to explore on foot, the biggest highlight are the mountain gorillas and the chimps as we stay in small comfortable hotels and lodges located close to interesting natural areas in Uganda.

Day1: Entebbe-Kampala
On arrival at Entebbe International Airport, you will be met by our representative who will transfer you to your hotel in Kampala, Cassia Lodge (C) or Holiday Express Hotel (B). BB

Day2: The marvelous Murchison Falls
 Leave Kampala and drive north west towards Murchison Falls National Park. Stop over at Ziwa Rhino sanctuary. For a nature walk to see the rhinos in the wild. Lunch in Masindi. Proceed to Murchison Falls Park, the largest protected area in Uganda, .Dinner and overnight at Paraa Safari Lodge (C) Red Chili Rest Camp (B). FB

Day3: The boat cruise on the river Nile
 Embark on an early morning game drive on the Northern bank where your guide will help you spot a great number of animals and birds. Return to the lodge for breakfast. Relax at the swimming pool side. After lunch, you will safari upstream by boat to the calm Victoria Nile and the base of the falls” There you can marvel at toothsome hippos, crocodiles and over the 17-kilometer stretch you may also see elephants, waterbucks and Uganda Kobs. This is also the habitat for many bird species. The boat leaves you near the falls and you will hike to the top. It is an exciting experience that brings you very close to the rushing whitewater as it squeezes itself through the narrow crevice below. The resulting mist from the turbulence often produces rainbows. Your driver will be waiting for you here and return to Paraa Safari Lodge (C) or Red Chili Rest Camp (B) for dinner and overnight. FB

Day4: Fort Portal in the shadow of the Mountains of the Moon
After breakfast leave Murchison Falls and drive Southwest via the Albertine Escarpment of the Western Rift Valley.  You drive through Hoima, the town of the Bunyoro kingdom, passing though verdant countryside, tea plantations and traditional homesteads. You will arrive in Fort Portal, the capital of the Toro kingdom, in time for lunch. Dinner and overnight at Mountains of the Moon (C) or Nyinabulitwa Crater Resort (B) FB

Day5: Chimpanzee trekking in Kibale National Park  
You will spend most of the morning in the forest in search of  chimpanzees. These primates are very mobile and viewing them is un-predictable but forest walk is enriching, activity starts at 8.00 am in the morning and takes about 4 to 5 hours. This forest is home to large numbers of chimpanzees and other primates including phoestes, Red-colobuses, Blues, Red-tailed, grey cheeked mangabeys, birds, and butterflies. The guide will provide detailed explanations on not only primates, but also on all the forest’s fauna and flora. After lunch, visit either the Kasenda Crater Lake region or Bigodi community initiative swamp and enjoy the amazing panoramic views. Dinner and overnight at Mountains of the Moon (C) or Nyinabulitwa Crater Resort (B). FB

Day6: The boat cruise on Kazinga Channel
After a relaxed breakfast, drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park, following the mystical Rwenzori Mountain Range most of the journey. Have a game drive en-route, lunch at the Lodge, with its wonderful location on top of the Mweya peninsula. Enjoy the unique two hour boat cruise on the Kazinga Channel  This trip passes through possibly the highest concentration of hippos and many animals may be seen drinking at the water's edge. This launch cruise gives you a great opportunity for photography, bird watching and game viewing. The prolific bird life is colorful and stupendous with well over 550 resident species. Dinner and overnight at Mweya Safari Lodge (C) or Simba Safari Camp (B). FB

Day7:  Queen Elizabeth National Park
The day starts with an early morning game drive along Kasenyi tracks and Queens mile in the park and expect to see lions, elephants, cape buffalos, warthogs, spotted hyenas, mongoose, waterbucks, Kobs and, if lucky, the leopard, plus a lot of small animals and birds. You will go as far as Lake George.
Drive back to the lodge for lunch. In the afternoon drive to the splendid Crater Lakes region for sightseeing’s. Dinner and overnight at Mweya Safari Lodge (C) or Simba Safari Camp (B). FB

Day8: The tree climbing lions of Ishasha
 With your packed lunch, drive to Bwindi via the Ishasha sector of the Park in search of the  tree climbing lions found only in this area of Uganda. The landscape is open savannah with acacia trees. Have packed lunch. Proceed to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park for dinner and overnight at Bwindi Gorilla Resort or Nkuringo Lodge (C) or Buhoma Community – Kisoro Tourist Hotel (B). FB

Day9: The encounter with mountain gorillas
After an early breakfast, you will be briefed by the park rangers before entering the gorilla sanctuary. The rainforest is dense and is crisscrossed by numerous animal trails, The thrill of spending time and observing the gorillas is an a memorable experience.  Gorillas are shy and peaceful animals and it is an unforgettable experience to watch and photograph them as they interact with one other. Dinner and overnight at Bwindi Gorilla Resort or Nkuringo Lodge (C) or Buhoma Community – Kisoro Tourist Hotel (B). FB

Day10: The wonderful Lake Bunyonyi
Take breakfast before driving to Kabale through the rolling hills and terraced landscape. This area is referred to as the "Switzerland of Africa”. Stopover at the Bakiga Museum to discover the culture of the local community here. Lunch at Arcadia Cottages, with its unique and amazing panoramic view of Lake Bunyonyi. In the afternoon, a boat ride on the lake to the various islands is a great opportunity for bird viewing and sightseeing. Return to Arcadia Cottages for dinner and overnight. FB

Day11: Lake Mburo National Park   
 You will drive to Lake Mburo National Park, the smallest national park in Uganda. Take a game drive in search of the beautiful impalas, zebras, cape buffalos, elands, oribi and topi.  Enjoy a boat trip on Lake Mburo. The park is a very good opportunity for bird watchers, who will enjoy more than 250 species of birds found here, including Papyrus gonolek, Brown-faced lapwings, and Carruther’s Cisticola. Take lunch and drive back to Kampala, Stop over at the Equator for photography, Dinner and overnight at Cassia Lodge (C) or Holiday Express Hotel (B). FB

Day12: Reserved for departure
Depending on your flight time, you can do a city tour including, handcraft and souvenirs shopping, cultural sites, and Mabira forest (time permitting). We then transfer to the airport, having covered a cross section of probably one of the greenest countries on earth. We look forward to welcoming you back for more adventure in the wild.

                                                                                    Detailed of theSafari Itinerary 

7 Days, Ugandan Gorilla Safari Bwindi and Queen Elizabeth National ParkDAY 1: Arrival and transfer to your hotel in Entebbe.
Met by our local guide for transfer to your hotel in Kampala. Entebbe is about 41kms from Kampala. You will remember that it was at Entebbe where the Israelis heroically released hostages that was on a hijacked Air France Airbus in 1976. This green breezy town was also the first capital of Uganda. Sir Fredrick Treves described it as ‘the prettiest and most charming town of the lake – a summer resort where no more business is undertaken than is absolutely necessary. You spend the night at you comfortable accommodation, Mosa Courts (upgrade available to Emin Pasha Hotel) for dinner and over night. Bed, Breakfast.

DAY 2: Bwindi Impenetrable Forest
Breakfast at your hotel before we drive heading to southwestern Uganda.
En route, there is a local community popular for making local drums and crafts and a fruit market. Stopover, admire and buy yourself souvenirs. Proceed to the Equator line taken as one beautiful scenery in Africa - the pathway of the sun and take photographs. You may be amazed by the local Hima pastoralists grazing the famous Ankole long - horned cattle. Take pictures and proceed. The Bwindi area is a highly fertile, mountainous region with steep sided hills covered from top to bottom in neatly terraced rows of cultivation. You are really driving through the “Banana Republic” with banana plantations all around you, steep hills, small rivers……just amazing scenery. Arrive late afternoon at the park and check-in at your accommodation Buhoma Community Bandas (with the option of upgrading to Bwindi Volcanoes Lodge/ Kitandara Tented Camp). Full board.
Estimated transfer time to Bwindi is 10 hours by 4 wheel drive vehicle.

DAY 3: Bwindi Impenetrable Forest
Today enjoy surely. After breakfast, proceed for the morning briefing before enjoying the highlight of the trip- Gorilla trekking which may last the entire day. We trek through the rainforest and bamboo covered slopes, accompanied by a guide and trackers, in search of a mountain gorilla family. The walking can sometimes be tough and long, but when you catch a glimpse of the magnificent silverback, any discomforts will be totally forgotten.

These gentle giants are highly endangered and anyone suffering even the slightest of ailments including a cough will not be allowed to go this trek. When sighted, visitors will be guided to within 6 metres from the gorillas, sit around them for a whole hour while gazing into their big round eyes. These giants are so powerful and can sometimes weigh up to 250kilos. Pictures with non flash zoom lens can be taken. After these adventures we return to our camp for a well-deserved rest. Full board.

DAY 4
: Bwindi Impenetrable Forest
We set out early morning walk through beautiful forest grasslands as we head towards the breathtaking adventures of Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park . We relax mid morning as we take in the majesty of our surroundings. Heading to Munyaga water falls. After lunch, we go on a guided excursion through the villages here – (the Buhoma Village Walk) where you trek through coffee and tea plantations and learn more about the local culture in Buhoma. We return to the camp to get plenty of rest for the day. Full board.


DAY 5: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park
After breakfast we drive through stunning savannah grasslands as we head to Queen Elizabeth National Park. Either (roads permitting) we will pass the southern sector of the park – Ishasha, a remote and beautiful extension of Queen Elizabeth National Park that is host to a large variety and volume of wildlife. (It is a fabulous site to see the lions draped from the trees and nowhere in Africa do you stand a better chance of seeing this than in the large low limbed fig tree of Ishasha). Or take the alternative route through cultivated expanses.
While in Queen Elizabeth National park we do a game drive in the northern sector of the park, the Baboon Cliff famous for its nice scenery, and good views of the shadows of the mountains of the moon – the Rwenzoris. Enjoy the drive back to the lodge through large expanses of savannah grasslands as you spot some wildlife enroute. Overnight at MWEYA HOSTELS (you can upgrade to MWEYA SAFARI LODGE/ JACANA SAFARI LODGE). Full board.


DAY 6: Queen Elizabeth National Park

We set out early in the morning for a game drive in the northern part of the park on the Kasenyi Track in search of lions, elephants, solitary buffaloes. This is the best time for opportunities of viewing the cats in action owing to the vast population of Uganda Kobs. We have an excellent chance to view just about every animal here at very close range. Midmorning relax by the pool at the lodge. PM go for a launch trip along the Kazinga Channel. This gives you the opportunity to view wildlife up close: hippo’s huff and spray mere feet away from the boat, buffalo linger in the shallows. The shores of the channel are also home to an array of birds including pink backed pelicans, pied and malachite kingfishers, saddle billed stork and many others. After this wonderful afternoon, enjoy a slow drive to relaxation at our accommodation. Full board.

DAY 7: Kyambura Gorge and transfer to Entebbe Airport

We set off early in the morning and head to the Kyambura wildlife reserve. Here we will be able to track the chimpanzee in the tropical rain forest. We hike into the Kyambura river gorge as we search for the chimps. The beautiful river valley is home to many species of birds and butterflies. Afterwards your guide will transfer you in due time to the Entebbe International Airport for your outbound flight. Please note that check-in for international flights should be done 2 hours prior to departure of the flight. In the departure hall (after check-in) you will find a small restaurant, a sitting area and several duty-free shops for your convenience. Meals: Breakfast
