RWANDA GORILLA DIRECT! (2 nights/3 days)

Day 1: ARRIVE KIGALI AND TRAVEL TO RUHENGERI

You will be met by a  Gorilla Tour Booking Safaris guide at the Kigali International Airport and stop for lunch in the city before being transferred to the twin lakes of Bulera & Ruhondo. These are beautiful lakes located at the base of volcano Muhabura and close to the border with Uganda. They are surrounded by steep hills and large waterfalls with a backdrop of the Virunga volcanic mountains. These twin lakes are great spots to be visited and used to be referred to as neglected gems, but things have changed and Bulera and Ruhondo are a place not worth missing out on. Their deep blue waters ringed by steep hills and tall waterfalls with the outlines of the nearby Virunga Volcanoes provide a spectacular backdrop. Get to the view point then drive to Ruhengeri area the second largest town in Rwanda, with its stunning backdrop of five volcanic mountains, The Virungas. Arriving for dinner and overnight at your hotel.

Day 2: GORILLA TRACKING 
After an early breakfast, you will proceed to the National Park headquarters - Kinigi to meet your guides for the day. After completing our park formalities, we will embark on a once in a lifetime experience of tracking mountain gorillas. Once you spot them, you are allowed to spend an hour watching your closest long lost cousin. This is perhaps one of the most breathtaking wildlife experiences on earth!!! You get so close to these awesome giant primates. You stare at each other blankly not knowing who will break the long silence first. Tracking the gorillas through the light mountain forest on the slopes of the Virunga is a magical experience. These massive primates are extremely rare, with less than 700 living today. You will get within meters of the family, and be privileged to spend an hour amongst them. The trekking may be fairly strenuous; up to six hours or longer at a relatively high altitude. We encourage for your own enjoyment, to make sure that you are perfectly fit and healthy. We’ve had people as old as 70 years old do gorilla tracking so this should not be a problem; all you need is to ask your driver guide to request a shorter group for you if cannot you trek far. It is important to bring good hiking boots, long trousers, gloves for protection against stinging nettles, some snacks & sweets (for you, not the gorillas) as well as sufficient water as the rain forest gets hot and humid during the day. You will spend one hour with the gorillas, but it is an hour you will never forget. Return to your hotel for lunch and later dinner and overnight.

Day 3: CITY TOUR AND SHOPPING + DEPART
After breakfast, you will bid your host good bye and depart for Kigali. Take a complementary city tour to visit interesting spots which may include; the craft market, Gisozi genocide memorial site & Kigali museum. Also engage in last minute shopping in one of the friendliest African capitals, before returning to the airport for your onward international flight back home.

Have breakfast, thereafter continue to the park head quarters for briefing about the mountain gorillas in the mist and the park as well, after enter into the jungle to search for the mountain gorillas and you meet them stay with them for about an hour while taking the unforgettable photographs and videos. Have your packed lunch, and then return to the park offices for your gorilla trekking certificate. Return to lodge for dinner and overnight, meal plan: F/B

Day3: Second gorilla trekking
After breakfast, return to the park offices for another briefing as the previous day, after enter into the rain forest jungle searching for the mountain gorillas but today you visit another gorilla group and take into the rules and regulations of yesterday trekking and when you meet the primates take the unforgettable photographs and videos. Thereafter return to park offices for your trekking certificate of that gorilla group and then return to lodge for dinner and overnight, meal plan: F/B

Day4: Volcanoes-Akagera Wildlife National Park
After breakfast, with our leisurely drive return to Kigali with visit to other museums, with lunch in Kigali and then after drive to Akagera wildlife national park an extension of Tanzanian plains where you can spot variety of wildlife species like the lions, elephants, buffaloes, warthogs among others. Dinner and overnight at Akagera game lodge, meal plan: F/B

Rwanda-Wildlife-SafarisDay5: Game drive & Boat ride
Dawn game drive to look for early riser wildlife species and other wildlife like the lions, elephants, buffaloes, giraffes, warthogs, water and bush backs, among others. Return to lodge for lunch and after in the evening prepare for boat ride along the Ihema Lake and over the cruise expect to spot various wildlife along the shores and birds as well. Day6: Akagera-Kigali
After breakfast you can enjoy a more morning game drive to spot more wildlife that you missed yesterday. After embark the safari vehicle and transfer back to Kigali with lunch en-route with another stop to some local markets to shop souvenirs’ and curious to take home. Dinner and overnight at Kigali Serena Hotel/Okapi Hotel, meal plan: F/B
Day7: Departure
After breakfast from the hotel take another city tour visiting more genocide memorials experiencing the historical and tribal issues that made Rwandese massacre each others. Lunch and after proceed to the airport for your flight transfer.
